President Buhari To Oyegun: Tenure Elongation Isn't In Party Constitution

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of APC was shocked this morning with the decision of President Buhari, which saw the cancellation of tenure extension for the National Chairman of the party, John Oyegun and other officials.
Though the APC’s National chairman, John Oyegun is yet to react to the new development, however it was gathered that President Buhari told a packed hall at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, to consider cancelling the tenure extension decision because it was against the party constitution.
“it is against the party constitution and the Nigerian constitution” he said. According to him, he doesn’t want the party’s decision to be faulted by any court of law.  President Buhari also said the tenure elongation will be a draw back for the party, and will create divisions within the party.
Recall that APC’s announcement of extension of the tenure of members of National Working Committee (NWC) led by John Odigie-Oyegun by one year, was opposed by the National leader of the party, Bola Tinubu and Lagos APC in general.
